Imane Anys was born on May 14, 1996, in Morocco, and has Berber ancestry through her mother. Her family immigrated to Quebec, Canada, when she was four, and she grew up in Ontario. Her first language is French, learned in French school; she also speaks English and some Moroccan Arabic. She studied chemical engineering at McMaster University before dropping out to pursue streaming full-time.

Streaming beginningsedit

Anys created her Twitch account in June 2013 and began streaming later that year on a $250 PC she bought on Kijiji, after reaching the Platinum rank in League of Legends. Her alias is a portmanteau of Pokémon and her first name, Imane. By 2017 she had surpassed 450,000 followers and ranked among the 100 most-followed channels on Twitch, and she was named Best Twitch Streamer at that year's Shorty Awards.

OfflineTVedit

In 2017 Anys co-founded OfflineTV, a Los Angeles-based social-entertainment content group of streamers created so that its members could live together, keep each other company, and collaborate on content. She announced her 'graduation' from full-time membership in a video on May 19, 2023, while remaining affiliated with the group.

Anys served as a TwitchCon ambassador and joined Twitch's Creator Camp in 2018. She signed a multi-year Twitch exclusivity deal in March 2020 and re-signed with the platform in February 2022. On January 30, 2024, she announced that she was ending her Twitch exclusivity, citing frustration with the company; she has continued to stream non-exclusively, including on YouTube, where she operates several channels covering gaming clips, vlogs, podcasts, and unedited VODs.

In October 2020 Anys streamed Among Us with U.S. Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar as part of a get-out-the-vote effort. She endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. presidential election and co-hosted a Bernie Sanders campaign stream that October alongside Valkyrae, AustinShow, and Sykkuno. In 2025 she participated in the launch of the Creator Economy Caucus. She has spoken publicly about being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in 2024.

Controversiesedit

In January 2022 Twitch suspended Anys's account for 48 hours over a DMCA claim raised during a watch stream of Avatar: The Last Airbender. That same month her stream was hate-raided by viewers of the creator JiDion; the two later reconciled, though the episode included a public disagreement with Ninja over the handling of JiDion's ban. In November 2023 the pricing of her Myna cookies drew backlash, which intensified after her response on a livestream.
