Ibai Llanos Garatea (born 26 March 1995) is a Spanish streamer, esports broadcaster and businessman from the Deusto district of Bilbao. He began his career in 2014 commentating League of Legends matches and joined the Spanish regional league LVP in 2015 before signing with G2 Esports as an exclusive content creator in February 2020. In January 2021 he left G2 to launch an independent streaming brand on Twitch, becoming one of the platform's most-followed creators. He is known for variety streams, the interview series 'Charlando tranquilamente' and the annual charity boxing event La Velada del Año, and in December 2021 he co-founded the esports organization KOI with footballer Gerard Piqué.

Early life and career beginningsedit

Ibai Llanos was born on 26 March 1995 in the Deusto district of Bilbao, in the Basque Country. He began his career in 2014, at the age of 19, commentating on League of Legends esports matches. In August 2015 he became a commentator for the Spanish regional league LVP (Liga de Videojuegos Profesional), and in 2016 he moved from Bilbao to Barcelona for his announcing work. Between 2015 and 2018 he won the Trasgo de Oro award for best caster.

Move to streamingedit

In February 2019 Ibai began presenting the late-night show 'Hoy no se sale' for the Ubeat network. In February 2020 he left LVP commentary to join G2 Esports as an exclusive content creator, and in January 2021 he departed G2 to launch an independent streaming brand centred on his Twitch channel. In February 2021 he launched the interview series 'Charlando tranquilamente', whose guests have included footballers such as Lionel Messi and musicians such as Bad Bunny and J Balvin.

La Velada del Añoedit

La Velada del Año is an annual charity boxing event between internet personalities that Ibai organizes. The inaugural event was held on 26 May 2021. La Velada del Año II (25 June 2022) drew more than 3.3 million viewers, setting a record for the most-watched Twitch stream at the time. La Velada del Año IV (13 July 2024) set a Guinness World Record for the most concurrent viewers on a Twitch stream, with 3,846,256 simultaneous viewers. La Velada del Año V (26 July 2025) reached 9,189,762 viewers; during it Ibai gained over 1.7 million followers, making him the most-followed streamer on Twitch.

Esports and business venturesedit

In December 2021 Ibai co-founded the esports organization KOI with footballer Gerard Piqué. KOI announced a merger with Rogue in October 2022; the partnership dissolved in November 2023, and in January 2024 KOI was acquired by OverActive Media in a merger that also included Movistar Riders. Ibai is also the founder and president of Porcinos FC, a team in the Kings League Spain, and of Rōnin FC in the Cuarta Catalana.

Other projects and eventsedit

Together with Gerard Piqué, Ibai organized the Balloon World Cup in October 2021 and 2022. On 19 December 2024 he recreated the Squid Game series in Madrid in a collaboration with KFC and Netflix. His 'Charlando tranquilamente' interviews and other broadcasts have featured footballers including Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Agüero and Lionel Messi, and musical artists including Ed Sheeran, Bad Bunny and Aitana.

Awards and recognitionedit

Ibai won the Esports Awards for Streamer of the Year in 2020, 2021 and 2022. At the ESLAND Awards he won Streamer of the Year in 2021 and 2023, along with other categories. In 2023 he won a Premio Ondas for Best Entertainment Program, a Premio Crack for International Personality, and Streamer of the Year – International at the 13th Streamy Awards. Forbes Spain named him the most influential social-media influencer in Spain in 2021.
