Methodology & data policy

WikiStreamer is an encyclopedia of livestream culture. Its priority is accurate, sourced content about who creators are — their biographies, collaborations, communities, projects, and lore — not real-time analytics.

We only show measured numbers as fact

We do not publish viewer counts, hours streamed, follower growth, subscriber counts, or earnings estimates. Those figures were previously modeled from public follower counts, which meant presenting guesses as if they were measured — so we removed them. If and when we ingest data directly from a platform’s API, each value will carry its provenance and observation date, and modeled values will never be shown as measured.

Data provenance

Every fact is tagged with where it came from:

• Verified — confirmed by the subject or an authoritative record.
• Platform-observed — measured directly from a platform.
• Editorial — hand-curated by an editor from public reporting.
• Estimated — approximate; always labelled as such.
• Unknown — not established, so it is omitted rather than guessed.

Follower counts are approximate

The follower figure on a profile is an approximate, editorial estimate drawn from public reporting and shown with a “≈” and an as-of date. It is a rough indication of scale, not an exact or live number.

Setup & gear

Equipment is listed only when a specific use is confirmed by a cited source, with the date it was observed. We do not claim a creator uses a product without a source.

Sourcing & review

Sources are first-class records, attached to facts, relationships, and timeline events. Profiles show when they were last reviewed. Some legacy prose is still marked as pending source review; we are working through it.
