Seán William McLoughlin (born 7 February 1990), known online as jacksepticeye, is an Irish YouTuber, comedian, and businessman based in Brighton, England. He registered his channel in December 2012 and rose to prominence after PewDiePie mentioned him in 2013, growing from roughly 2,500 to 15,000 subscribers within four days. Known for energetic Let's Play videos, comedy sketches, and his catchphrase "Top of the morning to ya, laddies," he reached one million subscribers in August 2014 and 31.2 million by August 2026. He is also recognized as one of YouTube's most prolific philanthropists.

McLoughlin was born on 7 February 1990 in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland, the youngest of five children, and was raised in Cloghan, County Offaly. He studied music technology and production at Limerick Institute of Technology, leaving in his third year, and later earned an honours Bachelor of Arts in hotel management from Athlone Institute of Technology in 2014. A drummer since childhood and a heavy-metal fan, he was formerly a member of the metalcore band Raised to the Ground.

McLoughlin began uploading as jacksepticeye in December 2012. After PewDiePie mentioned him in 2013, his following jumped from about 2,500 to 15,000 subscribers in four days. He turned to YouTube full-time in May 2014, reached one million subscribers that August, and passed one billion views by February 2015. He joined PewDiePie's Revelmode network in January 2016, signed with talent agency WME in 2019 and CAA in 2021, and by August 2026 had 31.2 million subscribers and roughly 17.7 billion total views.
