Darren Jason Watkins Jr. (born January 21, 2005), known professionally as IShowSpeed or simply Speed, is an American YouTuber, livestreamer, and musician from Cincinnati, Ohio. He registered his YouTube channel in 2016 and began consistent livestreaming in December 2017, initially playing NBA 2K and Fortnite. Clips of his energetic, often volatile gaming reactions circulated on TikTok in 2021, driving rapid growth. He later shifted toward in-real-life (IRL) and travel streaming, and in September 2024 became the first English-speaking streamer to reach one million concurrent viewers in a single livestream. Watkins was born on January 21, 2005, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Darren Watkins Sr. and Tiffany Elizabeth Graves. He attended Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy and Purcell Marian High School, and was nicknamed "Speedy" as a child for his athleticism. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, a clip of one of his gaming reactions was reposted by WorldStarHipHop; he subsequently moved to Detroit, Michigan, to live with his father and began livestreaming full-time using a PlayStation 4 camera. He holds both United States and Ghanaian citizenship.

Watkins registered the YouTube channel "IShowSpeed" in 2016 and began broadcasting consistently in December 2017 with games such as NBA 2K and Fortnite. Watkins was banned from Twitch in December 2021 over comments made to a female participant during an e-dating livestream, and was barred from Riot Games titles in April 2022 for remarks to a female player. He received a temporary YouTube ban in July 2022 after livestreaming an explicit Minecraft mod. His conduct toward a Chinese spectator at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar drew criticism, for which he apologized. In June 2026, FIFA announced an investigation following allegations he directed racist abuse at an Argentine supporter during a 2026 World Cup match.

Watkins is the son of Darren Watkins Sr. and Tiffany Elizabeth Graves and has two younger siblings, including a half-brother, Dian, who also broadcasts on YouTube. His great-grandfather, Harold Watkins, became the first African-American fire chief of the Detroit Fire Department in 1988. Watkins holds United States and Ghanaian citizenship and received the name Barima Kofi Akuffo during a traditional naming ceremony in Ghana in January 2026.
