Tarik Celik (born 18 February 1996), known mononymously as tarik, is an American livestreamer, content creator, and retired professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to a family of Turkish descent, he competed for teams including OpTic Gaming, Cloud9, and Evil Geniuses, and in January 2018 won the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018 with Cloud9, where he was named most valuable player. He later transitioned to full-time streaming on Twitch and, in 2022, joined the organization Sentinels as a Valorant content creator. He was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2024.

Early lifeedit

Tarik Celik was born on 18 February 1996 in Brooklyn, New York, to a family of Turkish descent. He developed an early interest in gaming, competing in Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL) events during middle school and creating 'FragShack' deathmatch servers while in high school.

Counter-Strike careeredit

Celik began his professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive career in 2014 with NetcodeGuides.com, followed by mouseSpaz (2014-2015) and Counter Logic Gaming (2015-2016). Joining OpTic Gaming in 2016, he won ELEAGUE Season 2 and its $400,000 prize and placed second at the Esports Championship Series Season 2 for $120,000. After his 2018 Major win with Cloud9, he played for MIBR (2018-2019) and NRG Esports (2019). He briefly stepped back from competition in 2019 before returning, and was associated with Evil Geniuses from 2019 to 2022. His career prize winnings exceed $750,000.

ELEAGUE Major and MVPedit

In January 2018, Celik was part of the Cloud9 roster that won the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018, becoming the first North American team to win a Counter-Strike Major. He was named the tournament's most valuable player and is described as the only American MVP of a CS:GO Major.

Streaming careeredit

Celik created his Twitch channel in 2012, originally under the name 'NoShirtTV,' and launched a YouTube channel in 2014. He transitioned to full-time streaming in 2019, and in July 2022 signed with the talent-management company Loaded. Nicknamed 'The Content King,' his Twitch channel has around 3.3 million followers, and his YouTube channel has about 1.02 million subscribers and 486 million views.

Valorant and Sentinelsedit

In August 2022, Celik joined the esports organization Sentinels as a content creator, expanding into Valorant. He became known for hosting 'watch parties' of Valorant Champions Tour matches, co-streaming professional competition to his audience.
